The Food Bank of Northwest Indiana located at 2248 W. 35th Ave, Gary, In. is traveling to make sure to reach hungry families throughout its designated counties. According to www.feedingamerica.org, “In 2012, 46.5 million people (15 percent) were in poverty. Fourty-nine million Americans lived in food insecure households, 33.1 million adults and 15.9 million children.” Food Bank of Northwest Indiana is doing its best to put an end to hunger.
We’re excited to announce our Pantry on the Go will be at the Salvation Army, 513 W. Chicago Ave, East Chicago, In. from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. If you know people in that area that are in need of food assistance please tell them to come out. We’ll be serving on a first come, first serve basis while supplies last. This program is proudly sponsored by McDonalds®.
Again, tell everyone that assistance is available today, June 25. Although the mobile will be located in East Chicago, it’s available to all Indiana residents.

The Food Bank of Northwest Indiana was founded in 1982. It was originally a barn, but has grown into a facility that acquires, stores and distributes over five million pounds of food throughout Lake & Porter counties.
