You would think that firefighters and police officers have a guaranteed position for life. That isn’t the case in most cities due to budget shortfalls and mismanagement of finances. Many believe it’s rational to cut positions through layoffs in order to handle the lack of funds to run its cities.
How will each city function without adequate manpower? The time to respond to an alert may possibly take twice as long because a station is now closed and the proper ratio of employees aren’t present.
The uncertainty of civil servants‘ futures are at stake. More importantly, the financial future of each city is unstable.
