Mark Anthony presented the 2nd Annual Black Fashion Week Juneteeth to display diversity on the runway. Mr. Anthony enthusiastically explained why he was inspired to give such an event that the community would embrace.
I covered a lot of events. I noticed people paid a lot of money to get into the events and could not fit anything on the runway. The white models would come out onto the runway and the photographers would take pictures. When the black models would come out onto the runway, the photographers would put their cameras down.
At that point, I decided that every event I present would focus on the black models. Whether I have a thousand people or one hundred people in the audience, the word is out. I do not give a show, I give a fashion presentation. The audience is welcomed to buy the clothes off the runway if you see something you like.
Mark Anthony has a model agency and boot camp. He is also the creative mind behind Models Inc. Magazine and MI Lingerie. Many of the models that ‘ripped the runway’ were from his agency. Mr. Anthony is a man of many talents, which was shown during the 2nd Annual Black Fashion Week Juneteeth in Chicago.
His passion for diversity on the runway inspired him to replace his personal design, MI Intimates, with the 17 year old fashion designer, Rich Temper by LaLa. LaLa has been designing for four years and a recent high school graduate who will attend college in the fall.
The audience will not be disappointed when attending a Mark Anthony Production. The designs are creative, elegant and amazing on and off the runway.
