Have you heard the news? Anti slavery activist, Harriet Tubman,  will be the new face on the front of the $20 bill. She will replace the face of Jackson becoming the first African-American woman to appear on U.S. Currency. Jackson along with a picture of the white house will be placed on the rear of the bill.

According to the Washington Post, “The changes were announced Wednesday by Treasury Secretary Jack Lew as part of a historic overhaul of U.S. currency aimed at addressing America’s legacy of slavery and gender inequality. They came after a viral online campaign to feature a woman on the currency and, later, a push to preserve Hamilton’s place by historians and fans of the hit Broadway musical bearing his name.”

We are happy to read about the many people posting throughout social media about the new face of the $20 bill of Harriet Tubman.

Make a promise, not a pledge, so that it is not broken to spend all the Tubman’s bills in your community while you support black own businesses.
