As our nation celebrates the second term for President Barack Obama, Chicagoans must acknowledge the landslide win for Jesse Jackson Jr. Yes, he won a re-election to the Illinois 2nd Congressional district.

In any normal election this wouldn’t catch the attention of many, but this win was done without any effort. Jesse Jackson Jr. won his seat without a fundraiser, campaign, and no interaction with voters.

He simply kept his name on the ballot and let everyone make a decision based on his past accomplishments and name.

After the announcement of his re-election, Jesse Jackson Jr. released a statement:

“My deep and sincere thanks to the people of the 2nd Congressional District, I am humbled and moved by the support shown today… Everyday, I think about your needs and concerns. Once the Doctors approve my return to work, I will continue to be the progressive fighter you have known for years. My family and I are grateful for your many heartfelt prayers and kind thoughts. I continue to feel better everyday and look forward to serving you.”

Jesse Jackson Jr. is currently in a Mayo Clinic diagnosed with bipolar disorder. He is also being investigated in separate cases for possible financial and ethical improprieties.

    • Yes, it truly is. Now that he’s reelected, Jesse Jackson Jr. is speaking with “authorities” about his allegations. There are some people who are outraged because he may possibly lose the position after they voted for him.
