Put Extra in ordinary

By Bahiyah Shabazz, MBA

“If you want to succeed in the world must make your own opportunities as you go on. The man who waits for some seventh wave to toss him on dry land will find that the seventh wave is a long time a coming. You can commit no greater folly than to sit by the roadside until some one comes along and invites you to ride with him to wealth or influence.” ~John B. Gough

Extraordinary People (1992 TV series)

As you look around you may notice many waiting for someone to give them a hand. Many are programmed that if they do what is asked, come to work on time and never ask questions they will receive whatever it is they are waiting for. Well, many are doing just that…waiting.

If you ever want to get to the next level you must perform as if you are on that level.  To become extraordinary you go beyond what is expected of you.

This begins with understanding and knowing your full potential.

Yes, there will be someone who is smarter, faster, and brighter. But it is YOU who are willing to learn what it takes to move forward. It is YOU who knows that in order to become the master of your future you must become the student. It is YOU who realizes that you are educated enough to create an opportunity. It is YOU who are staying up at night thirsting for knowledge.

It is YOU who are extraordinary…
