As we reflect on the “I have a dream” speech that was given on August 28, 1963 and all that Dr. King stood for we must think about our dreams today.
What is it that makes you excited everyday? What is holding you back? Why are you fearful?
If our leaders of yesterday couldn’t answer these questions we would not be able to have a better tomorrow.

We sometimes take our fabulous lives and the opportunities we have for granted. I am so grateful that once a year time is set aside so that I can reflect on what life was like for us before him and how blessed we truly are.
Thank you for keeping his dream alive.

You’re right. Life is sometimes taken for granted. It wasn’t that long ago that we were denied certain privileges we afford today. It’s important to appreciate what we have.

Being awake and participating in life makes me excited everyday, I am the only one holding myself back, and I am afraid because to gain, I must risk discomfort.
He provided a model for all of us and an example of the impact one person can have on the world.
Thank you.

Profound. I see discomfort as labor pains to give birth to a better tomorrow. Think about it…when you have momentary sacrifice you show that you are worthy.

Great metaphor – isn’t it funny that our whole culture is directed to relieve us from discomfort – in every form. We can see where that has landed us.
