If you have ever been involved in Track & Field you are familiar with the term “hitting the wall“. For those of you who are not aware it is when you run (sprint or long distance) and instantly lose momentum. No matter how much your coach and others cheer you on, you slow the pace.
Don’t let this happen with your goals for 2012. Yes, it is only the second day, but it could easily happen.
When you decide to move to the next level in life it begins with your behavior. If you never change your behavior, mindset and outlook you won’t be able to hold yourself accountable.
Disregard the negative energy that others bring around you. It will only create a toxic environment that is difficult to escape.
It’s time to break your goals into smaller accomplishments. By doing so, you are able to measure your progress. Make sure your goals are visible so that you are able to visit them each day and when necessary. If you hide your goals, you hide your opportunity for success.
Remember, accomplishing your goals is more like a marathon and not a sprint. Slow and steady wins the race!

Great post! George Lenoard talks about this in his book Mastery. He discusses the cycle of success and the path to mastery. You have a breakthrough followed by a step back and then a plateau. Most people get frustrated by the step back or the plateau and give up. When in reality, that is a time to test yourself, build your character and take the necessary action for you next breakthrough. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you! I must now read his book. Too many times people rather “hit the wall” than try harder. The latter will get better results.
